Watkins has been the subject of two customer complaints in the last three years.

The two complaints allege unsuitable recommendations in alternative investments – such as business development companies (BDCs), energy funds, and real estate investment trusts (REITs). One case involving REITs and energy funds settled for $4,999, while the complaint involving a BDC is still unresolved.

Christopher Watkins carried his securities license with LPL Financial from May 2011 to November 2018. He was then discharged by LPL Financial in November 2018. Watkins has since been affiliated with Silver Oak Securities and Magnate Advisory Services.

LPL Financial is a FINRA member and securities broker-dealer. Since it is a FINRA member, LPL Financial has a responsibility to supervise Christopher Watkins’ conduct, and it also must ensure that Watkins sells suitable investments to its customers.
