Did you invest in Silver Edge Financial with Dave Nicolas or Daniel Mackle of Hackensack, New Jersey? The investment fraud and securities arbitration law firm of Israels & Neuman is looking into claims made by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) against Dave Nicolas and Daniel Mackle. The SEC alleged that Nicolas and Mackle, who were previously registered with Garden State Securities, MD Global Partners, sold investments in Silver Edge Financial, which is an unregistered pooled investment vehicle.

The SEC claims that Nicolas, Mackle, and other salesmen raised over $65 million in investments in Silver Edge Financial. The investments in Silver Edge Financial were not registered, and Silver Edge Financial was not registered as a broker-dealer. As such, the SEC alleged that Nicolas, Mackle, and Silver Edge Financial violated securities laws. The SEC barred Nicolas from the securities industry and ordered him to pay a $70,000 fine. Mackle was also barred and ordered to disgorge $2.2 million and pay a $975,000 penalty jointly with Silver Edge Financial.

Dave Nicolas was affiliated with Garden State Securities from 2008 to March 2019; with MD Global Partners from June 2019 to July 2020; and with San Blas Securities from September 2020 to December 2020. Nicolas worked in Hackensack, New Jersey and Long Island City, New York. Mackle also worked with Garden State Securities from 2008 to March 2019 and with MD Global Partners from June 2019 to July 2020.

Securities brokerage firms like MD Global Partners and Garden State Securities must follow FINRA rules, including Rule 3110, which requires sufficient supervision over representatives like Nicolas and Mackle.
