Michael Greenfield, Formerly with Newbridge Securities, Subject of Customer Complaints

BOCA RATON, FLORIDA Have you invested with stockbroker Michael Greenfield from Boca Raton, Florida? Our firm is looking into two complaints made by investors who filed claims against his former brokerage firm, Newbridge Securities. One pending case, which was filed in September 2022, claims negligence by Greenfield in connection with the sale of an “alternative” investment. A second case, which was filed in October 2023, makes allegations regarding a purported agreement by Greenfield to procure a credit facility for an investor’s real estate project but that Greenfield purportedly failed to do so.

From June 2017 to October 2023, Michael R. Greenfield worked in a Boca Raton, Florida office for Newbridge Securities. Greenfield also previously was licensed through Oppenheimer, and he is now with Great Point Capital. In addition to the two pending cases, Greenfield was previously the subject of four other customer complaints between 2016 and 2020.

Securities brokerage firms like Newbridge Securities are required by FINRA to perform due diligence on all investment products it sells. If it failed to adequately perform due diligence on the alternative investments, the firm could be liable for investor losses.

Have you invested with financial advisor Chun Elmejjad from Falls Church, Virginia? Our law firm is looking into allegations made against this advisor, who was fired by Equitable Advisors (previously known as AXA Advisors) in November 2023, according to FINRA’s BrokerCheck.

Chun Suk Elmejjad had held a securities license with the brokerage firm from 1995 to November 2023. FINRA’s BrokerCheck reveals that she was terminated for “violating company policy by accepting a loan and an investment from a client in connection with an undisclosed and unapproved outside business activity”. Generally, financial advisors cannot accept loans from clients, with limited exceptions.

Brokerage firms are required to have written supervisory and compliance procedures, under securities rules and regulations to supervise their advisors. If Equitable Advisors failed to reasonably supervise Elmejjad, it may be liable for customer losses.

Our firm has represented numerous investors in FINRA Arbitration throughout Virginia and have sued dozens of brokerage firms in the past.
