Allegations Against Kris Barrett

BrokerCheck, which is a website maintained by FINRA, discloses that Edward Jones fired Kris Barrett regarding allegations of “Concerns the registered representative referred a customer to an unapproved outside investment opportunity involving an entity with which he appeared to be affiliated, that customer funds were transferred to that entity, and concerns regarding customer authorization.”  Financial advisors must get permission from their brokerage firm for every investment that they sell or recommend to customers.

Kris Barrett was licensed with Edward Jones from November 2023 to August 2026 at a Portland, Oregon office. He previously worked as a mortgage loan officer.

FINRA Rules require securities brokerage firms like Edward Jones to adequately supervise the activity of its advisors.  Edward Jones could be responsible for investor losses if it failed to reasonably supervise advisors like Mr. Barrett.
