Matt Hawkins has also sold numerous investments in GWG L bonds to his customers. A review of documents fild with GWG Holdings bankruptcy indicate that Matt Hawkins and his brokerage firm, Centaurus Financial, recommended investments in GWG L Bonds to their clients. In April 2022, GWG Holdings filed for bankruptcy, which likely means that investors will have suffered significant losses in their GWG investments. The GWG investments carried significant risk. If a recommendation to invest in GWG L bonds was unsuitable for a customer, then Hawkins and Centaurus Financial could be responsible for any investor losses.

Dana Matthew Hawkins has worked in an office in Lexington, South Carolina for Centaurus Financial since May 2015. Hawkins also previously worked for J.P. Turner in Lexington.
