Have you lost money with financial advisor Brandon Curt Stimpson (CRD# 4299623), formerly of Allegis Investment Services in North Logan, Utah?  We are investigating allegations of former customers related to Brandon Stimpson. Brandon Stimpson and his former brokerage firm, Allegis Investment Services, as well as affiliated firm Allegis Investment Advisors, were the subject of a complaint filed in FINRA arbitration.

 

The customers alleged that Brandon Stimpson recommended that they invested in index put options linked to the Russell 2000 index.  The customers alleged that these investment recommendations were unsuitable.  An arbitration panel in Salt Lake City, Utah awarded the customers $270,000 in compensatory damages; $53,000 in interest; $60,000 in attorneys’ fees; and $20,000 in costs.

 

Brandon Stimpson was a registered representative of Allegis Investment Services from May 2014 to December 2017.  He also worked with Signator Financial Services from December 2010 to May 2014.  He has worked at a branch office in North Logan, Utah.  Stimpson has at least eight customer complaints on his BrokerCheck report, many of which complain about options trading.  Stimpson kalso operated companies called Summit Group Financial and Brandon Stimpson, Inc.

 

Brokerage firms like Allegis Investment Services have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm.  Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies.  When brokerage firms fail to adequately supervise their registered representatives, they may be liable for investment losses sustained by customers.
