Peter Doyle, formerly of Morgan Stanley, Barred from Securities Industry
Have you lost money with financial advisor Peter Doyle of Washington, D.C.? We are investigating allegations made by FINRA, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, against Peter J. Doyle. FINRA barred Doyle from the securities industry after he failed to respond to a FINRA investigation. FINRA was investigating Doyle after he was terminated by his former brokerage firm, Morgan Stanley, for engaging in unauthorized trading.
Peter Doyle was a financial advisor and registered representative of Morgan Stanley from 2008 to July 2016. He was also affiliated with H. Beck from September 2016 to February 2017. He worked at a branch office in Washington, D.C. Doyle has been the subject of three customer complaints. Morgan Stanley and Doyle were recently ordered by an arbitration panel to pay over $8 million to an elderly customer. The arbitration claim was brought by Denis and Gloria Doyle, and they alleged losses with respect to NQ Mobile.
Brokerage firms like Morgan Stanley have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm. Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies. When brokerage firms fail to adequately supervise their registered representatives, they may be liable for investment losses sustained by customers.
