Mark Tauzin of Lafayette, Louisiana Sued by FINRA for Unsuitable UIT Trading

Have you lost money with financial advisor Mark Tauzin of Lafayette, Louisiana?  We are investigating allegations made by FINRA (the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) against Mark Tauzin, a former advisor at LPL Financial.  FINRA alleged that Tauzin engaged in unsuitable short-term trading of Unit Investment Trusts (or UITs) between November 2012 and November 2014.  Moreover, FINRA alleged that Tauzin maintained blank, signed forms in his files, in violation of LPL’s policies and FINRA rules.  To settle these allegations, Tauzin agreed to an eight-month suspension from the securities industry, a $20,000 fine, and to repay partial restitution of $205,115 of ill-gotten gains.

Mark Tauzin was a financial advisor and registered representative of LPL Financial from September 2009 to November 2014.  He worked at a branch office in Lafayette, Louisiana.  Tauzin’s BrokerCheck report discloses that he is the subject of one customer complaint, making allegations regarding UITs.  He is also affiliated with a registered investment advisory firm called Spirit Capital.
