INVESTOR ALERT! JEFFREY JOHNSON of Michigan SUSPENDED

Jeffrey Johnson from Birmingham, Michigan Suspended Seven Months From Securities Industry

Have you lost money with financial advisor Jeffrey Johnson of Birmingham, Michigan?  We are investigating allegations made by FINRA (the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority), against Jeffrey Michael Johnson. FINRA suspended Johnson seven months from the securities industry and fined him $10,000.

FINRA alleged that Jeffrey Johnson offered and sold to his clients investments in a fantasy sports company that he partially owned called FourPlay Sports, LLC.  He also owned another company called Teaser Fever.  Johnson allegedly solicited 11 investors to invest $310,000 in FourPlay Sports without getting permission from his brokerage firm, Morgan Stanley.  FINRA alleged that Johnson told Morgan Stanley about FourPlay Sports but did not tell Morgan Stanley that he was selling promissory notes to investors in FourPlay.

Jeffrey Johnson was a financial advisor and registered representative of Morgan Stanley from December 2011 to March 2016.  He worked at a branch office in Birmingham, Michigan.  Johnson has been the subject of at least one prior customer complaint.  Johnson was also terminated by Morgan Stanley for this conduct.

Brokerage firms like Morgan Stanley have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm.  Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies.  When brokerage firms fail to adequately supervise their registered representatives, they may be liable for investment losses sustained by customers.
