William Slattery, formerly with Lambert Capital Markets, Suspended Five Months
Have you lost money with financial advisor William Slattery of New York, New York? We are investigating allegations made by FINRA, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, against William (or Bill) Patrick Slattery. FINRA suspended Slattery from the securities industry for five months and fined him $12,500. FINRA was investigating Slattery regarding outside business activities that he allegedly failed to disclose to his former brokerage firm, Lambert Capital Markets.
Slattery was alleged to have been engaged by eight start-up companies to identify prospective investors and introduce them to company principals. Slattery was involved in numerous companies, including technology companies, a hedge fund, a film company, an eyewear company, and a biotechnology company. It was alleged that Slattery earned $45,000 in total for referring investors to these companies.
Bill Slattery was a financial advisor and registered representative of Lambert Capital Markets from January 2014 to May 2016. He worked at a branch office in New York, New York. Slattery was also terminated by Lambert Capital Markets regarding this conduct.
Brokerage firms like Lambert Capital Markets have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm. Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies. When brokerage firms fail to adequately supervise their registered representatives, they may be liable for investment losses sustained by customers.
