Paul Zakhary, formerly with J.P. Morgan, Suspended by FINRA for Three Months
Have you lost money with financial advisor Paul Zakhary? We are looking into allegations made about Paul R. Zakhary from Ocala, Florida. FINRA (the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) suspended Paul Zakhary from the securities industry for three months and ordered a $5,000 fine. FINRA alleged that Paul Zakhary recommended that three customers sell their variable annuities and exchange them for fixed annuities.
FINRA alleged that Zakhary did not have a reasonable basis for making the recommendation, because he did not use a 1035 exchange to avoid tax consequences. FINRA also alleged that he also did not understand or consider the different sub-account options of the variable annuity.
Paul Zakhary was a financial advisor and registered representative of J.P. Morgan from October 2017 to September 2019. He worked in a branch office in Ocala, Florida.
Brokerage firms like J.P. Morgan have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm.
