Mark Hopkins, formerly with American Portfolios Financial Services, Subject of Michigan Investigation


Have you lost money investing with Mark Hopkins from Grand Blanc, Michigan?  We are continuing to look into allegations made against Mark Lewton Hopkins, formerly an advisor with American Portfolios Financial Services.  Our firm currently represents a victim of Hopkins’ activities, and he is also the subject of an investigation by the Michigan Securities Division.  The investigation concerns purported investments made in a credit union.


Earlier in 2019, Mark Hopkins was barred from the securities industry by FINRA, after he failed to respond to their investigation into allegations of a customer complaint against Hopkins.


Mark Hopkins was a representative of American Portfolios Financial Services from July 2009 to December 2018.  He worked at a branch office in Grand Blanc, Michigan.  Hopkins also worked with Worklife Wealth Management.


Brokerage firms like American Portfolios Financial Services have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm.  Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies.  When brokerage firms fail to adequately supervise their registered representatives, they may be liable for investment losses sustained by customers.
