WARNING! Impending Investigation–PATRICK RICHARD HARRISON and CUSO FINANCIAL SERVICES

Patrick Richard Harrison and CUSO Financial Services

Have you lost money with financial advisor Patrick Richard Harrison from Portland, Oregon?  We are currently investigating allegations made by FINRA (the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) made against Harrison, who also worked in Tacoma, Washington.  FINRA recently barred Harrison from the securities industry for engaging in private securities transactions.

In April 2014, it was alleged that Harrison solicited two clients at his brokerage firm, CUSO Financial Services, to contact a person identified by FINRA as “B.W.”  Harrison participated in phone calls between B.W. and CUSO senior customers, and the customers were solicited to invest in a purported publically traded bank.  They gave $340,000 to B.W., who stole the money and never invested it as promised.  Harrison earned $14,000 in commissions for these sales.  FINRA barred Harrison for this conduct, as Harrison did not have permission from his firm, CUSO, to sell this investment to his customers.

Patrick Harrison was a registered representative and financial advisor with CUSO Financial Services from August 2013 to July 2014.  He was terminated by CUSO for this conduct.

Broker-dealers like CUSO Financial Services have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm, including investments sold by their registered representatives.  Broker-dealers also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies.  When broker-dealers fail to adequately supervise their registered representatives, they may be liable for investment losses sustained by customers.
