William Hightower, formerly with UBS Financial Services, Barred by SEC

Hightower was barred from the securities industry by the SEC, after he pleaded guilty to wire fraud when he stole money from his customers.
William Hightower was previously the subject of an action by FINRA, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. FINRA barred Hightower from the securities industry, after he failed to respond to a FINRA investigation that he referred customers to an unapproved private securities transaction.
William A. Hightower was a financial advisor and registered representative of UBS Financial Services from 2007 to September 2013. He was also affiliated with Legacy Asset Securities from September 2013 to June 2015. Hightower’s BrokerCheck report discloses that he is currently the subject of a $1,000,000 customer complaint, wherein the customer alleges that he made unsuitable investment recommendations and unauthorized trades between 2009 and 2013. Hightower also filed for bankruptcy in 2005.
Brokerage firms like UBS Financial Services have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm.
