<strong> </strong>Have you lost money with financial advisor William Colie Johnson, formerly with Voya Financial Advisors and now with Cadaret Grant in Greenville, South Carolina?  We are looking into allegations made against William Johnson, who has been the subject of <strong>six customer complaints</strong>, two of which have been made within the last year.  Johnson is alleged to have sold unsuitable investments in real estate and BDCs (business development companies).  The <a href="/practice-areas/advisor-negligence-and-fraud/unsuitable-investments-and-reg-bi/" rel="noopener" target="_blank"><strong>BDCs and real estate investments</strong> </a>caused alleged losses of a combined $350,000.</p>


<p>William Johnson was with Voya Financial Advisors from 1999 to August 2019.  Johnson has also been with Cadaret Grant from August 2019 to the present.  He has worked at branch offices in Greenville, South Carolina.</p>


<p>Brokerage firms like Voya Financial Advisors have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm.  Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies.  When brokerage firms fail to adequately supervise their registered representatives, they may be liable for investment losses sustained by customers.</p>
