According to FINRA’s BrokerCheck, Kestra Investment Services fired John Perillo regarding allegations of “Violation of Firm Policy with respect to borrowing funds from multiple clients and taking custody of client funds for the purpose of a bill pay service.” Generally, financial advisors cannot borrow money from clients, with limited exceptions. Moreover, advisors like Perillo must obtain permission to do so from their firms in advance.
