Several of Board’s customers have filed proof of claim forms with the GWG Holdings bankruptcy. According to the GWG Holdings bankruptcy website, the proof of claim form deadline is July 29, 2022. While advisors may claim that investors can get money from the bankruptcy process, it is likely that investors will only get a small fraction of their money back through the bankruptcy.

GWG Holdings filed for bankruptcy in April 2022. This will affect investors who purchased GWG products, like the GWG L Bonds. These GWG L bonds had substantial risk. If a recommendation to invest in GWG L bonds was unsuitable for a customer, then the advisor and/or brokerage firm who made the recommendation could potentially be responsible for the investor’s financial losses.
