Sherwin Sargeant, Formerly with Planmember Securities, Barred from Securities Industry

ORLANDO, FLORIDA Did you invest in crypto with financial advisor Sherwin Sargeant in Orlando, Florida? Israels & Neuman is looking into claims made by FINRA against this advisor, who was an affiliate of Planmember Securities. He was barred from the securities brokerage industry by FINRA after refusing to cooperate with a FINRA investigation.

FINRA’s Letter of Acceptance, Waiver, and Consent (AWC) alleges that Sargeant was being investigated for undisclosed outside business activities. In particular, FINRA was looking into his involvement with crypto investments. He then refused to comply with FINRA.

Sherwin Sargeant was registered with Planmember Securities from December 2019 to July 2023. He worked in Orlando, Florida. He also operated his own business called Retirement Planning Associates.

ERIC ANTHONY DUPRE is FIRED by Ameriprise Financial

Ameriprise Financial Fires Advisor Eric Anthony Dupre

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS Are you a former customer of financial advisor Eric Anthony Dupre from San Antonio, Texas? The securities and investment fraud law firm of Israels & Neuman is reviewing allegations made against this advisor. He was fired by Ameriprise Financial Services in March 2024.

Ameriprise terminated Mr. Dupre in December 2023. According to BrokerCheck, he allegedly borrowed money from clients, which is generally not allowed under FINRA Rules. Additionally, he has been the subject of a $4 million customer complaint, in which the customer alleges that Dupre recommended to the customer to make cryptocurrency investments and other unsuitable investments.

Eric Anthony Dupre had been with Ameriprise from June 2020 to December 2023. He worked in a San Antonio, Texas branch office, and was previously with Raymond James.

Ameriprise is a FINRA member firm and must have written supervisory and compliance procedures, under securities rules and regulations. If the firm failed to reasonably supervise its financial advisors, it may be liable for customer losses.

Todd Lesk Formerly with Cambridge Investment Research Barred

Did you invest with advisor Todd Lesk in Coral Springs, Florida? Israels & Neuman is reviewing claims made against Todd M. Lesk, formerly with Cambridge Investment Research. In October 2023, FINRA’s Disciplinary Database shows that he was barred from the securities industry.

FINRA began its investigation in October 2023 when it sent requests for information to Mr. Lesk. FINRA was inquiring about an alleged recommendation by Lesk to a customer to invest in crypto assets held away from his firm, Cambridge Investment Research. Lesk refused to cooperate with FINRA’s investigation, which led to the expulsion.

Todd M. Lesk was licensed with Cambridge Investment Research from September 2022 to October 2023. He was also with LPL Financial from February 2018 to September 2022. Lesk worked in Coral Springs, Florida.

Cambridge Investment Research has obligations to reasonably monitor the acts of its representatives. If the firm fails to do so, it could be responsible for investor losses. JUSTIN MAHER of Northwestern Mutual is SUSPENDED

Former Northwestern Mutual Advisor Justin Maher Suspended for Crypto Sales

NEW HAVEN, CT

Did you invest in cryptocurrencies with Justin Maher of Northwestern Mutual? In September 2023, he was suspended from the securities brokerage industry for 12 months and fined $10,000 for selling cryptocurrency investments without disclosing it to his former brokerage firm, Northwestern Mutual.

Maher was alleged to have worked with EthereumMax (EMAX). Additionally, he also sold Level Up and PEEPS tokens. He was alleged to have sold cryptocurrencies to more than 30 investors who invested at least $245,000 combined.

Justin Maher was a financial advisor and registered representative of Northwestern Mutual from February 2010 to October 2021. He worked at an office in New Haven, Connecticut before he was “permitted to resign” for selling cryptocurrency.

Under FINRA Rules, brokerage firms have a responsibility to adequately supervise their representatives. When firms fail to adequately monitor their registered representatives, they may be liable for investment losses sustained by customers.
