WARNING! James Flower of SW Financial in Melville, NY

Lawrence Roberson and Capital City Securities, LLC

Have you lost money with financial advisor Lawrence Roberson of Detroit, Michigan?  We are investigating allegations made by FINRA, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, against Lawrence or “Larry” R. Roberson. FINRA barred Roberson from the securities industry after he made misrepresentations in connection with the sale of a purported “bond debenture” in 2015.

According to FINRA’s allegations, Larry Roberson sold a supposed bond debenture to a customer for $40,000 during July 2015.  FINRA alleged that the bond was not genuine, and that Roberson simply stole the money to pay for personal expenses.  The bond was allegedly called “WMG 2015 Bond Debenture”, and his investment advisory firm was called Wealth Management Group, Inc.

Lawrence Roberson was a financial advisor and registered representative of Capital City Securities from January 2009 to January 2016.  He worked at a branch office in Detroit, Michigan.  Roberson ran a couple of his own businesses, including Wealth Management Group, Inc., a registered investment advisory firm.  Roberson was also previously suspended by the State of Michigan in May 2016 for failing to respond to its investigation regarding these allegations.

Brokerage firms like Capital City Securities have a responsibility to adequately supervise all representatives who are registered through their firm.  Brokerage firms also must take steps to ensure that their financial advisors follow all securities rules and regulations, as well as internal firm policies.  When brokerage firms fail to adequately supervise their registered representatives, they may be liable for investment losses sustained by customers.
